Ok, I have been thinking this over a lot, and really am convinced it's a good idea. However, it would totally change everything that's happened so far. Here's what I want to do: Change from HH04 to HH03.
Here's why:
1) More in depth stats
2) Much better utilities
3) More programs, such as HHDraft (a prog where you make your own draft list), which gives you more control over things
4) Easier to run, for example there is a program that does salaries, trades, picks, lineups, and checks to make sure all rosters have no mistakes all in one.
5) We can see minor leagues stats (no such thing in 04)
Drawbacks:
1) I'd have to create a whole new file to make each player similar to what he should be (Vitals wise). Reason for this is that many players are highly overrated in these HH03 files, so I'd have alot of work to do.
I will able to keep the rosters everyone has, but it will take an incredible amount of work from me, which would be rough since I'm in college and work 35 hrs a week. But I am willing to try it, and after this first season is completed is when we'd switch.
Please give me your input on this. It would take alot of work from me, but I think it would make the league better in the long run. Here is a list of programs we'd be able to use that we can't because of 04:
HHDraft-select your own draft lists to build your team instead of letting the game do it automatically
HHManager- The program I described above. It does so much work that it'd make my job 109384309 times easier. It does waivers for me (instead of me manually making sure guys aren't sent down illegally), trades, salaries, allows schedule editing, keeps track of traded picks (if we were to do that), EVERYTHING. For you guys, it is like a better version of the editor.
HHRecord- Great program. Posts all the game stats, keeps historical stats, keeps records, award winners, top prospect lists, everything. Here's a link to a league that uses it. Look how in depth it is. I know many of you here are in leagues that use it, and I'm sure they can vouch for how much better it is than one team stats page. Here's one from another league- www.hostultra.com/~hhslleague/HHRecord.htm
In my opinion, those 3 programs would make this league so much better. It would take a ton of work on my part, but really for the league not much would change. Even if we decide to do the switch, I find a good file, then someone helps me make all the trades..that may be possible. I want input on this. Don't only vote, but let's also discuss it. This season doesn't end till early October, so if we get it all straight now it'll give me time to work on it if needed. Lets Talk about this. You can vote and add comments, or just add comments and vote later. For the vote it's YES or NO. Yes to do the switch, or no not to. I want everyone to talk about and vote on this.
