Rockies get 3B Aramis Ramirez, contract covered this year, $4 mil of contract paid by Mets next year, $1 mil the year after.
Mets get OF Frank Ramos

so now I am not allowed to give a better player for a worse player, with the other team paying some of the bad contract, this is getting pathetic.

Ramos is a DH or a 1b.
Ramirez might not be that great on D but he has some range and plays at a more valuable position, and he is a better hitter IMO.

yeah I agree 15 more hits with 17 less BB's(means Ramos gets on base 2 more times than Ramirez) and 7 less triples with 1 more double and equal HR's gives Ramirez a better bat.
Ramos Hits- minus 15 BB's- + 17 Doubles- Minus 1 Triples- + 7 HR's- =
Ramirez having a .936 career fielding% does not make him valuable on the field, he is a DH and only a DH.
SO Ramirez having a WORSE bat, and WORSE defense makes him better...(BTW, like you said with Upton, the range makes his fielding% worse, cause he gets to the ball more which will create more errors. Not gonna flip flop are ya Kerry?)

here we go again. This is my last post on this trade. I'd like to hear why nym's is doing this trade? I'm curious as well, without a logical explanation from the Mets, I can't see why this trade would go through. IMO Ramirez is a much better player than Ramos.

ok guys this is ridiculous, a player with a worse bat and worse defense is much better than a player with a better bat and better defense. Not saying anything bad about you Cubs but I don't understand this.

i can't explain it any better than col....i give up an underperformer and cash i don't need for a guy who may or may not make it for me. he may be the 10th best of in my system, but the other 9 are in AA/A ball and won't be ready next year. ramos will. i want to start francisco salas (rookie) and rafael furcal, and the only way to start both of them is by dumping ramirez. i really don't need ramirez. i think vetoers here should see how this applies to my team and its plans, not just what the stats say (even though ramos is statistically even or better than ramirez)

ok guess it goes to TC
Can you guys seriously not get this through your heads, the vitals and performance says Ramos is better. Ramos is 3 years younger. Ramos is 300K for NYM's through 2012, as Ramirez costs 6 MIL in 2008 and 2009 plus incentives, he is paying 5 MIL in contract. that means he is getting a better younger player, and saving 5.8 MIL dollars in the process, I am getting a bench player that is currently sucking, and has worse vitals than the player I am giving up.
