I copied this from the league rules...have we been doing this....if not it would be a good idea to start...
League Bank The league bank will be made up of the money from waiver fees and fines. The money from this will then be added to the Caps of the 10 worst teams, using this formula: The worst team gets 20%; the second and third worst get 15%; the fourth, fifth, and sixth worst get 10%; the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth worst get 5%. This is meant to help keep a competitive balance in the league.

I am completly against this. There is no reason the bad teams should be recieving money from the league. That creates an unfair advantage for the tankers!! All this will do is make teams tank even more. Tanking should not be rewarded with extra cash. The tankers should have picks taken way not given extra for being bad. You get money by winning games not free hand outs.

the problem with the league bank is that the bottom 3-5 teams are almost always tankers. they ruin an idea like this for the teams like sf and sd that are just awful teams to start.

I agree it is a bad idea. HOU is the worst team(on purpose), the teams with the really bad records are the ones with no GM's or the ones that are purposely doing bad to build their minor leagues. Teams that decide not to compete in the ML's and to build their minors shouldn't be given money to help their cause. I mean we could always propose that the 10 lowest minor league systems should get a comp. pick between the first and 2nd round cause that makes as much sense.

there is a BIG difference between Tanking and Rebuilding...
with the HUGE difference between the top and the bottom...the only way to enter the top teams is to have an outstanding farm system...thats why the teams who win are young...they have the specs to come up...
by saying houston is tanking is a reach...he was rebuilding correctly FOR A SIM LEAGUE....now if this were real life teams who rebuild like that would lose the GM WAAAAAAAY before the team ever hit the ML....but in a SIM LEAGUE your afforded that luxury...
my team is a perfect example...its known that in a few seasons the Reds will be winning central titles and contending for the WS....now I tried it the "old guy" way and it didnt do anything but put me in money problems....so I stripped my team, stockpiled my specs until I had one of the best farms in the league, and now I am adding ML to start winning a little before my all-star caliber specs hit the ML....
so if I were a "tanker"..I would give the same advice to new GM's....Even Houston was attempting to add some ML talent after last seasons draft...people need to realize that...
Tanking would be what BOSTON did the season he lost 62 games IN A ROW....putting in 18 yr old garbage players in ML, out of position and ahead of better ML talent...

who cares if they are tanking or not? The bad teams with the good minors should not get extra money. Teams with good ML's but bad farm teams get nothing to help their farms but teams with bad ML's and good minors should get money to help their ML's??? that makes no sense

it shouldnt matter what shape your farm is in....and that money CAN be used to improve the farm...purchasing of picks or specs, extra cash to include in trades, ect...
what matters is this is in the rules and I was wondering why it hasnt been done yet is all

Teams for it: CIN, LAD Teams against it: PHI, COL, NYM, TOR
Noticing a trend, haha

Teams for it: CIN, LAD Teams against it: PHI, COL, NYM, TOR Noticing a trend, haha yes but there is no real reason you can say this benefits the league by doing it. I mean here is the bottom 10 teams in the league last year with 1 being worst- 1-CIN- 380K 2-HOU- 48 MIL 3- BAL- 15 MIL 4- LAD- 34 MIL(after a huge import) 5- KC- 8 MIL 6- CHC- 10 MIL 7- SF- 10 MIL 8- SD- 37.45 MIL 9- OAK- 12 MIL 10-Minn- 26 MIL so of all the 10 worst teams in the league other than CIN 380K(who has the BEST minor league in the league) every other team has 8+ MIL to spend still with one team having 48 MIL. Do we really want to be giving them more money? whats the point?

4 of those teams have been open this offseason...sf, sd, hou and bal...kc, oak, lad, chc, min and myself all have tried to add to ML(or buy specs) but some seasons there are not any sellers...some seasons there are too many sellers...
but I do see where you are coming from when the topic is brought up while teams have alot left...but those teams have tried to use that money...
(and before anyone says im fighting im not...just b/c I reply to jeff its not a fight lol...just stating my opinion)

and I understand what you are saying but what is throwing more money their way gonna help anything? Not to mention why are we trying to help them? I mean if a team is doing bad that might just be their re-building plan, every team needs to go through that eventually. Some teams can do it in 2 years, some need 4-5 seasons. If a team has a great minor league system why do they need to be given help to upgrade their ML system? They are going to get their chance when their minors develop.

very true...but this was in the rules to help the competitive balance in the league...and there is no arguement that balance is needed in this league...
i dunno if this would even help...but something needs to be done for the teams at the bottom(im not even refering to my team...i think im about to join the upper echelon teams in a few seasons...but still something is needed)
maybe we should brainstorm what could help the bottom teams...

well we do have the supplemental draft for teams that are showing improvement and if teams keep their first round pick they can build their team through the draft. Teams that can't do it themselves I really don't see why we should help. I mean look at what you did with your team. You turned your team into a shithole through not knowing what you wanted to do. Then you turned your shithole into one of the best minor leagues and can make a competitive team in the ML's if u want. In 3-5 years you will have one of the top 5 teams in the league. If you can do it there is no reason the other teams can't do it without help IMO.

true(and thanks) but every year it will continue to get harder for the lower teams as the upper teams continue to improve(ANA adding fulmer, conroy, johnson for one example) those lower teams with no good GM's(or gm's at all) will continue to win 50-60 games and not get the specs they need to compete in the future....which could widen the gap between good and awful
I do see your side...but i feel something should be in place to assist anyone who has to do a rebuild...I know from experience how time consuming it can be to build a team to compete with the PHI, ANA, COL's of the UCSL...
could anyone else give some impute here please? this could be something that would help the revolving door of GM's in the worst teams(sf, sd, lad, bal, oak ect)...
one thing I would like to add that was done that helped teams was assigning the open team a "sponser" to do a draft file and offer imports contracts(would have had them in FA but I wasn't doing offers for 4 teams lol)
also...maybe we don't need a permanent solution...maybe we need to do something season by season until the talent gap shrinks...
