At the Royals' latest press conference, it was confirmed that the coaching staff was indeed shuffled. In a surprise move Sparky Anderson has been charmed out of retirement to teach this young club how to play sound fundamental baseball. "I'm going to start by showing them where home plate is" said Anderson. Along with the staff, George Brett has agreed to be bench coach as well as Third Base coach. Willie Wilson coaches first base, Bret Saberhagen is the new Pitching coach. In an equally surprise move, a move critisized by some, Cito Gaston has been hired as the new hitting instructor. Also at today's press conference, the new ownership addressed the presses questions about bringing back the fans. Some of the new fan friendly lures include Kids Days where after each Saturday home game kids are aloud to run the bases; Tuesday home games will be half price for seniors; and entire sections to be for family seating. It was also mentioned that a big name was in the works to come and sing the national anthem(s) on opening day at the ball park, but no more was said as to whom that could be.
