Deal is for Active and Retired Service Members

Yesterday afternoon, Dodgers Majority Owner and General Manager Pete Mense announced plans to allow active and retired service members to attend Dodgers games at no charge.
The idea came to him when he recalled an earlier memory of being in the DEP program (delayed entry program) when he was able to go to Cincinnati Reds games for 4 bucks, and was really happy that some people still respect the military, like he said, "It was because Bush was in the White House, and a lot of civilains didn't support us, so it was nice to see that some people still appreciated us."
He also had the same idea when he was an assistant GM under Wayne Krivisky when he was with the Reds before he came to Dodger town as its new General Manager.
"I'm proud of having served in the Navy, every moment was wonderful, except for the surgery that ended my career from a blown apart shoulder due to taking a missle hit while trying to put a flight deck fire out." When asked if he was willing to go into more detail, Mr. Mense started to tear up and said, "No, I'm sorry, I lost too many friends to that attack and it pains me too much to talk about, maybe later when I can forgive myself." When asked what he meant, he said, "Can we just get back on topic!, please?"
Mr. Mense also added that when the service member gets their ticket, they will also be entered into a drawing to call an inning of the game on the radio, and annouce the starting lineup in an upcoming Dodgers Game.
Retired Navy Chief, Rex Aultman, who is the one that recruited Mense to join had this to say, "I'm glad to see that Pete cares so much about the military, and after his injury, he vowed to do something so that his fellow serivce members can enjoy a game of baseball, I'm proud to say that he was one of my recruits, and prehaps my best." Rex and Pete have been in constant contact since their first meeting.
I will end my article saying this, support the military, for you (civilians) take everything for granted, freedom of speech, and freedom of press, and you wouldn't have any of these without the sacrifice of the men and women of the United States Military! God Bless America!
