Simple one-
Should injuries be turned on?
This would make use of the DL, and possibly give young players an opportunity to prove themselves when someone is injured, making for a more realistic sim.
As an addition to this, if implemented, the American League teams would be allowed 1 Instant heal per half. This would not carry over, so if a team were to not use their first half heal, they would not have 2 in the second half. (Half designated by all star break). This would be done because HH has a known bug causing more injuries to AL teams. These instant heals would level that out, and allow us to have a more realistic sim.
Please discuss along with your votes. Ideas and suggestions would be nice.

Yes, Javy Lopez was forced to play with an injury all last season and couldnt sit out because game settings said he couldn't...or he jsut had a bad year...but still, I vote for injuries on.

Injuries would certainly make bench and minors more important. Let's give it a go.

I said injuries was a bad idea because teams have made trades jduing there are no injuires in the game and thats how we have played all along. it also slows down the game and makes things more complicated
I like things the way they are. We are trying to change too much in this league. If its not broken don't fix it and right now the league isn't broken. Its alot of fun the way it is now.

Remember, there is no players who is more injury prone than another in this. So just because a team has Griffey doesn't mean he pulls his hammy all the time. He might, but it's not based on any setting in the game.

i dont like the idea because i think it will slow down the league....it will mean that u will have to stop and rearrange the order and everything. and if the person isnt on and u do it yourself some1 is gonna bitch about it.

I think injuries would make the season more realistic, however my experience has been that the computer goes overboard with injuries. I was playing a season with me managing the Yankees. Giambi got hit with a 339 day injury, the next day Soriano got a 157 game injury, and less than a week later, Mariano Rivera was out fo 60 games. Needless to say, that hurt. I've played a few other sims and although there were alot of injuries, this was an extreme case.
In the final analysis though, I turned injuries off.

I've changed my mind on the injury thing. If a weeks worth of games are being simmed at a time, what happens to the injured player? If he's injured and listed as day-to-day, is he sent to the DL instead of riding the pine? How is his replacement determined? As the one league president said, opens up the potential for more bitching than needed.

I've played a few other sims and although there were alot of injuries, this was an extreme case. In the final analysis though, I turned injuries off. That's the main reason for the instant injury heal. If you get a Giambi injured for 339 days, you can heal him. I know that HH gets out of hand with AL injuries, which is why only AL teams would get it. The NL gets nearly nothing when it comes to that. Well, beginning this year we'll be doing live sims, so A) the GM is there and tells me how to fix it, or B)I do what I believe is best for the team (if it's a minor injury I'd not DL them), then they make changes before the next sim. In HH it gives you the injury lengths, so if it's a short one to an important player, I wouldn't screw the team by DLing the guy. If over 15 days, obviously I'd DL him. I just like the idea of the added realism added to the game. It offers the opportunity to actually use your bench, making fringe FA's more important. It allows you to call up prospects that may be blocked otherwise. I understand it might be a little tougher for me, but it's not much IMO. Either way I'm simming the same amount of days (10), 2 days a week.

I vote no to injuries, I mean we started out with no injuries and that helped determine alot of peoples mind with trades, i mean alot of people traded away good back-ups because they knew they would not need back-ups, and without the need of back-ups, this leaves more FA to pick from if you have a guy that is really doing bad for you. I vote no to injuries.

I agree, no injuries. And so what if people don't understand the importance of a good bench.

injuries would make it more realistic which is the point of a sim league... to be as realistic to the real thing as possible because we all suck too much to be a part of it in real life
