Minor league contracts should be allowed to in season free agents. Many minor league free agents are out there that are undeserving of a major league contract until they prove themselves. It makes it so that younger people who get cut have no chance at making it back into a minor league system. If this were real life (which minor league contracts are allowed in), all these players would love the chance to get back with a team and prove themselves rather than rot in a free agency pool for their existance because they need to get paid major league contracts to play minor league ball.
Here are some reasons Colorado gave that you can't do this:
I think both of these points are valid but they can be avoided. If you give a signing bonus for minor league contracts then that can be how to determine which team gets the player.
ex. Team A offers a $500k bonus with his MLC and Team B offers a $600k bonus with his MLC. Team B's offer wins.
And as for your last point, the UCSL doesn't have to be this way, that's what the rule change proposal forum is for.
So far in my month that I've been here this is the only problem I have with the system. Thanks for taking the time to consider my suggestion

For one this is because you aren't allowed to sign a FA without giving compensation(the min. being 500K per year) and because this way 2 teams can't offer minor league deals and the agent would have to choose which team is better, by giving a money value it ensures a way to determine who he signs with. Either way thats just how UCSL is
