I think this award should come back and be much more important to the simleague. If someone comes into the simleague and is new or just starts out in the league and completely changes a team like San Fran and turns them into a huge prospect team, I think he should be given more than just a little amount of money. Isn't that one important reason of being in any simleague? It's all about who can do the best with what is handed to them. I mean this award is very subjective, but I still think we should bring it back
Maybe having a Commitee to decide who is the GM of the Year instead of a poll. Maybe The Commish, both League Presidents, and 3 other GMs who have won in the past (like COL) just in case the Commish or the other League Presidents are contending for GM of the Year

I believe the money you get for that award is 2.5 MIL which is a substantial amount, it is half the amount you get for winning the WS, I think that is more than fair.

No I plan on having award voting for last year (the year before as well, since that only had like 3 voters) now that we're more active. Just have to either find time to make the ballot myself, or find someone willing to put it together for us who has more time than me.

I'm in favor of this idea, I'd like to get recognition for all my good moves, and could use the $2.5 mil. Nice signature filler too

I fail to see any relation between having his GF in the league and there being a GM of the year award.

no the issue was he wanted the GM of the yr award to be worth more since his GF just joined...
but I don't give a fuck about it anymore...

It doesn't matter, she still has to be worthy of the GM of the year award...she has to be a good GM to win it. If she's that good of a GM, then I don't see why you care...somebody needs to compete with COL.

Actually come to think about it, if she is actually good enough to win the GM of the year award then that greatly helps the league, not hurts it. If she doesn't win it, whats the big deal.

Exactly my point! If she wins the GMotY award, then it's good for the league because that means we have a good new owner! If she doesn't, no big deal...15 teams in the NL don't win the award every year.
