I would prefer the Minn twins but will take another team that available. I haven't done this before but I love the trading and player development of baseball. I know this is short but I don't know much else to put here. Let me know if I can get a team.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but is there anything else to sign up for the forums than create an account to post?
I guess I will go with ATL. Unless either SF or SD has some really good prospects
My email is Nkraayen@gmail.com and I dont have AIM.

You don't have to sign up anywhere else, just here. You don't have to lock yourself into a team just yet. ATL is loaded in the majors and has some great young ML guys. There are probably some open teams with better minor league systems, but I don't know them off the top of my head. SF and SD have a few solid prospects but if you're looking for something somewhat easy to start with, ATL is the way to go.

ATL still has McCann, Franceour and Andy Marte you are not gonna find a team open with 3 guys like those 3 especially 25 and younger

I wrote these up yesterday for the available teams:
SF is the team in between the two extremes of all ML or all Minor Leagues. With a few past stars (Ichiro, Derek Jeter, Travis Hafner) and a few budding ones in ML as well as some decent prospects at all levels, they are probably the closest to competition.
SD is a veteran team bulit around superstars of the past (Mike Mussina, Nomar Garciaparra, Mike Hampton, Chipper Jones, etc.) No real hitting in the minor leagues, but some decent arms down there. SD would be a team ideal for an experienced owner looking for a big challenge. A few trades and key free agents are needed to keep this team afloat. Must be patient, because it takes a while to rebuild a team with such little talent. If you're new to sim leagues, this team is probably not for you...but if you're dedicated, you can make it happen.
The Orioles have 27 year old first baseman Steve Bailey, with 102 HR's over the past 2 seasons, the power hitting catcher Orlando McCormick, Solid starters in Rommie Lewis and AJ Burnett and some big bats and strong arms in the minors.
Oakland has some great young ML arms in Brian Bruney (2.23 ERA and 31 saves at 26), Shane Bazzell (3.45 ERA and 13 wins at 29) and Mike Connolly (14 wins and 3.56 ERA at 26 as well as legit hitters such as Adam Dunn (41 HR last year) and rising star Mark Teahen. The A's have some solid pitching prospects and decent batters as well. They do play in the same division as the commish, however, and have a long way to go if they want to compete with him.
I left out ATL since I assume they're being chosen and DET if they're already claimed by Sean's friend.

Is someone willing to help me out a bit getting used to this program. I seem to understand a fair amount but looking through is there a good way to tell what kind of prospects these players are. I can look at their stats but didn't know if there were any other ways. I don't want to put myself in a hole right away trying to figure things out.

You can always ask me questions ("hoagie the hokie" is my AIM name). New owners will have sponsors to approve their trades for their first season in the league, so it isn't really possible to completely screw yourself over.
