No I wanted Burnett and Santana, but when bidding gets to where payroll won't allow, I have to withdraw.

There has to be some kind of rule against this. If there isn't, I think this is a fine time to instate one saying that you have to stick by your bids.

Well, we're always open to suggestions. If we can come up with a rule that can be enforced, then we can vote on it at seasons end before next FA. I was going to allow it to go down to the next price, but there's still SD in the bidding with you, so I felt you still needed that offer up to get him. Try to come up with something, put it in the suggestions forum, and we'll try to come up with a good rule for it.

there is something you can do to stop the price going higher though, make a rule that from now on, if you are still in the top 3 for bidding, then you can't make another offer until you drop out of the top 3, I mean the only reason I kept counter offering s because everyone else kept bidding higher then me, then when I bid higher then them, they had to one up me again, and it just got to high to fast, I mean, I did trades to where I can't afford Burnett anymore at the 17.5 Million that is offered right now, if I thought there was anyway I could sign him at 14.5 Million, then I would not have withdrew my offers to go after another SP.

Just stick with any bids you make from now on. It'll save money for the people who really want to sign the player.

How will me sticking to my bid save money, oh I see, so someone else that can afford it can't be considered top 3? you are a sneaky little guy lol, you want me to be considered top 3 bid because I can't afford to sign him? I wish he didn't get up this high this fast, then maybe I could have signed him, I would love to be able to sign Santana, that was my first option, but when he got to 24.4 Million I couldn't go after him, so I went after AJ, then AJ got to high so I traded for Bartolo Colon, withdrew my offers to AJ, and went after my 3rd option for SP. I mean why stay in a race you can't win, instead of allowing someone who can win it get up into the top 3?

I could really care less whether you are a top 3 bidder or not, I just don't like it when people don't stick to their word.

Burnett will continue considering offers from the following teams-
San Diego, Houston, Colorado.
Continued bidding is allowed from those 3. It is not required. If you feel you have the best deal, you don't have to increase it. But you will have 48 hours to continue bidding, beginning Saturday night, and ending Midnight ET Monday night.

San Diego offers 2 years at 16 million dollars with a 3rd year team option of 20 million. This short contract will allow AJ to get Santana-like cash in as short as 2 seasons if he proves he can get it done, which we believe he already has.
