Padres offer AJ 2 years at 8 million per year in sunny San Diego.
where he won't be a 5th starter (Chicago) where he won't be in 5th place (Milwaukee) where he won't have a 5+ ERA (Colorado)
and with the short contract, in 2 years, he'll be set to earn Santana-type dollars

Milwaukee makes the following offer to Mr. Burnett: (and also reminds him that Milwaukee was 4th last season, and not 5th and will most likely improve with probably the best cast of prospects in the league)
Base: 7 years 12 million per
Incentives: .5 mil for ERA under 3.50, 1 million for ERA under 3.00 (only gets one though) 1 million for K over 200 .5 mil for W over 15, 1 million for W over 20 (same deal only can get one) 500K for AS Appearance 2 million for CY
We believe financially we've offered the best deal, and going to Colorado will only hurt your pitching stats substantially. Milwaukee will be powerhouse in 2 years and will compete with you on board this year.

Rockies offer 7 years 15 Mil per
We also remind you that WE have the best young spects in baseball and Feuntes a great closer, we also offer you a team who won there division last year, and has a chance to win this year AS wel as in 2 years and the future, we are young, we remind you that although Mil likes to put Coors down, your stats may be increased but with our line-up, the wins is all that matters and you will get PLENTY, I don't know what you think is better having great stats on a team that finished 4th and admitted has no future for two more years or having good stats with a team that will make playoffs year after year, starting LAST YEAR and continuing on. Although we let go of Mike Mussina and Kevin Brown both of them posted a 3.5 ERA last year for us, which means that two old pitchers conquered Coors, it's time to agree to my deal, and put nah sayers aside and join your younger brother Sean Burnett in our SP rotation.
