Brian, They need to be equal amounts per year. I made the same mistake when I was trying to sign free agents. Since you are offering 16M over 4 years, it would be 4M per year.
Giants offer 5 years 27mil he will also get an additional 1.5mil for reaching 40 saves or ERA under 2.30
2005- 5.4 mil 2006- 5.4 mil 2007- 5.4 mil 2008- 5.4 mil 2009- 5.4 mil 2010- 7mil team option
If that Is what you meant, could you please repost it. Thanks.

to make the numbers more round and to upgrade the offer: KC offers Nen 4.5 Mil and 4 years. They also offer a fifth year player option for 5 Mil. There is also an incentive of 1.5 mil (each year) for achieving 40 or more saves.

Nen will continue considering offers from the following teams-
San Francisco, Kansas City, Toronto.
Continued bidding is allowed from those 3. It is not required. If you feel you have the best deal, you don't have to increase it. But you will have 48 hours to continue bidding, beginning Saturday night, and ending Midnight ET Monday night.

Brian, I mustn've been clear in my explanation. The dollar amounts must be the same for each year. So your offer would be invalid. A valid offer would be
Giants offer 5 years 27mil he will also get an additional 1.5mil for reaching 40 saves or ERA under 2.30
2005- 5.4 mil 2006- 5.4 mil 2007- 5.4 mil 2008- 5.4 mil 2009- 5.4 mil 2010- 7mil team option

KC also would like to remind Nen that KC is is a much improved team from last year and has intentions of making the playoffs and that the closer's role is his to keep as long as he is with the team. KC plans to compete this year and years to come. What helps is that we are in an easier division than SF. Nen, would it help if we also offered a no-trade clause? We love ya man and would love to see you in Royal Blue.

Mr. Nen, to show you the love , we will also give the no-trade clause as well as a promise to trade you to a contender by the trade deadline if KC is under .500 on July10th.

KC just realized that the wording of the previous post is confusing; so ignore it completely, except the part of "wanting to show you the love ". Instead of a no-trade clause, we will put it in the contract to trade you to a likely playoff contender by the trade deadline, TEXT, if KC is under .500 on July 15th.

the part that says "text" should read "in any year of the contract." I tried to italisize those words... didn't work
