When a team option is offered, in any type of signing (offseason FA, regular FA, extentions), a buyout must be included in the offer (and the amount specified). This is something that I haven't stuck to 100% before, but that will make decisions easier, and it gives the player an incentive to take a team option. It also will help to avoid issues being raised when a player has his option declined and is instead resigned. Please remember to offer this when you make the post. Any offers that don't include this will have the team option knocked off of the deal.
This should also be offered for mutual options...but it's only paid out if the team declines. If the team were to accept and the player declined, no buyout is paid.
Also, buyouts should not be offered for Player options.
