Phi gets Alfonso Soriano and AZ #1 in next years draft (2011)
AZ gets Freddy Guzman and Phi #1 in next years draft (2011)
We accept and hope Soriano will be able to fill our 2B hole. We hate seeing Freddy go but he couldn't play 2B...lol

I Veto as well. Guzman isn't crap, but the part that makes it harmful for me is that ARZ is throwing in his pick. PHI is def going to have a lower pick and he is getting the better of the 2 players. ARZ's pick just pushes it over the top.

hey nyy, tell me how this trade is worse that the one you offered me:
tadano, kenard bibbs, nathan panther
for
soriano(where i have to cover some salary this year)
yeah, i know tadano's vitals are sick, but he has never even come close in his career to touching them...if he was that good, you wouldn't have him in your pen, and you wouldn't be trying to move him...sorry but in my mind this was a far better deal for me...and if you are upset that you didn't get him, you should have taken me up when i was asking for adam jones and tadano in exchange for soriano and either a pick or a second player, but you wanted more than a 1st rd pick for jones(which is freaking crazy!)

Freddy Guzman is crap, and ARI's first round pick is going to be MUCH lower. Veto Guzman lead the league in walks last year and was ROY a couple of seasons ago...so I am not sure where you are getting that he is crap....but pass the blunt this way next time..the rule is puff, puff, pass...not puff, puff, puff, puff, puff, puff

I agree that AZ will have a better pick. no doubt, but he is also having cash flow problems so taking Soriano's contract has some value here. Also Guzman is a nice lead off guy with great on base and can run like the wind. Soriano is older and not a very good defensive player. The swopping of picks was to adjust for the salary and the age difference. I would not trade Guzman 1-1 for Soriano because Guzman is a player that is hard to find, great speed and on base, that is why the picks where changed. Also, you must want to see me land Dice K, Jason because this trade would have taken up like $13 from my team with Soriano's deal and Reed replacing Guzman...but its cool....I was thinking that I made a bad trade anyways on myside of things

Guzmans career obp is like .400, and soriano hasnt even touched .300 the last 2 seasons. Plus guzman is just hitting his prime. He doesn't hit for power put he's a great leadoff guy. And AZ gets rid of soriano's salary. It sucks that he had to give up his pick, but maybe he thinks hes gonna improve his team enough to make it close to MIL's. I think this is fine.
