First off I think we should keep this as a Rumor Mill for everyone.
There are rumors going around that the Chicago Cubs are shopping "Slammin" Sammy Sosa and Matt Clement, and they could be packaged together for a good SS, good OF, or an Ace (good #1 or 2). - Harlod Reynolds

Angels Rumors-
There are rumors going around that the Angels have a multi player deal in the works to trade Troy Percival. This would open the closer spot for a possible FA signing, or K-Rod to slam the door shut.
Also, the Angels are shopping their perrenial MVP candidate Garret Anderson. They would like to deal him in a package to get a good SS/C combo. This would also make Eckstein and Molina available if it goes down.
The Angels have said they're going to "retool" the team, even though they already have tons of talent. Most of the players don't work in GM Mike Mitchell's philosophy and will be dealt. This includes guys like Guillen, Anderson, Percival, Colon, Washburn, Lackey (maybe), Ortiz, Eckstein, and Kennedy. They have already had many offers on some of these guys. I'd expect many of those names to be gone by May.

Peter Gammons, who is a close personal friend of Indians GM Mark Shapiro is reporting that the Indians are not done with the retooling of the Indians. It is believed the versitile Lou Merolni is now available for possible depth in the pen after the acquiring of Chone Figgins from the Angel's. Also appears that Bob Wickman, Bob Howery, Mark Wholers and Jeff D'amico are all on the block for lefty help out of the pen or minor leaguers. Expect more trades in the near future.

Peter Gammons also reports that the Indians may deal either Ben Broussard or Josh Bard depending on the decision of if Victor Martinez will remain at catcher or move to 1B. Depending on where he ends up will leave the incumbdent on the block for a back up OF or a lefty out of the pen
Harold Reynolds also reports that the Indians have been fielding several calls about LHP Cliff Lee. When Shapiro was asked about a possible deal including Lee he responded "We have no interest in currently trading Cliff, but I will never say never".

John Kruk, an ESPN Baseball Tonight analyst, reports that the Anaheim Angels have been fielding a surprisingly high number of calls on star OF Jose Guillen. Bartolo Colon, Garret Anderson, and Adam Kennedy have also drawn plenty of interest. The Angels are still looking to fill C, even though they have defensive whiz Bengie Molina, and SS, even though they already have David Eckstein and Omar Vizquel.

Tim Kurkjan of ESPN is reporting that there are rumors afloat that the Detroit Tigers are actively shopping Catcher Ivan Rodriguez, who many believe is the best Catcher in the game. There have been many teams who have inquired about Pudge, and there are a couple solid offers on the table. It is said the Tigers are looking for an Ace type pitcher in return for the stud catcher. GM Dave Dombrowski has said that the possible trade of Pudge does not mean the Tigers are giving in and throwing in the towel for this season. They fully expect to improve their team and be a player in the relatively weak AL Central in 2004.

Peter Gammons has reported that the Indians search for a left handed set up man may have evolved into a possible 3-way deal. The Teams being rumored to be involved are the White Sox who would send either lefty Kelly Wunsch or Damaso Marte to the Tribe, along with the Giants or the Astros who have expressed intrest in Indians lefty Scott Stewart. The Indians would most likely have to part with Tim Worrell among others in this deal. Mark Shapiro when asked about the situation replied "I have no comment at this time on any specific deals. All I will say is theat we are actively pursuing any option we have to improve our team." When other GM's rumored to be involved were asked they all replied with no comment.
