Peter Gammons reports that the deal between Milwaukee and Seattle is complete.
"There was last minute speculation that ARod was headed to ANA for Superstar Vlad Guerrero. That apparently fell through because the Brewers would have had to pickup much of ARods contract and they wanted to free up some money. Not to mention the fact that they are a pitching hungry team. Now the question is, 'who is the odd man out of the Brewers Rotation?'"
Stay tuned.

In breaking news, the Reds have called up LH super spec Scott Kazmir to replace Seth Etherton in the rotation. The team will use Kaz as their 5th starter for the remainder of the season. Kazmir has been stellar this year in AAA to the tune of a 2.98 era and a 7-4 record. He has logged 100 innings pitched and compiled some remarkable numbers, 143K's to only 23BB's and a mear 7 hr's allowed to go with a 0.237 opp ba... 0.280 obp...0.337 slg
The team also annouced today that they promoted OF spec and future lead off man Banky Edwards to AAA after a mear 2 seasons in the minors, but Edwards production at every step so far justify's the promotion to AAA so quickly. The team sited that Edwards age and college playing days are keys to Edwards fast track...in 73 games this season in AA, Edwards has a hit .421/.493/.650 with 101 hits, 17 doubles, 4 triples, 10 hrs and only 18 k's to go with 34 bb's...making it a no brain choice for the Reds.

Joe Morgan was quoted earlier today saying-
"Jose Reyes uses his speed to steal the bases, he is a very fast player, you can't learn speed, and it can't be taught. Because of his speed he will steal alot of bases, as long as he doesn't forget how to run fast, because you can't teach speed. Reyes gets alot of triples because of how fast he is to."

Reporter- "How good do you think Jose Reyes can be?" Joe Morgan-"Well, he's got great speed, and when you have great speed you can play alot of small ball. His speed could take him great places. How far I can't say, because I don't get to see him develop on a day to day basis. But he has great speed, and he's a very exciting player."
